Job Description
- Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that the company has enough feed to meet demand and maintain pricing levels
- Coordinating with suppliers to ensure that the company has access to raw materials needed to manufacture feed products
- Reviewing market conditions to determine whether prices for feed should be adjusted
- Ensuring that the company meets all federal and state regulations regarding feed production and sales
- Reviewing production reports from suppliers to ensure that they are meeting contractual obligations
- Supervising staff to ensure that they are performing their jobs effectively
- Assessing the quality of incoming ingredients and outgoing products for compliance with industry standards
- Managing daily operations at the feed mill, including hiring and firing staff as needed
- Developing long-term plans for business growth and profitability
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as feed mill quality manager
- Conscientious and responsible
- A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
- Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
- BSc/ Ba in business administration or relevant field
- Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
