Job Description
The Purchasing Specialist at Ben Soliman is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing products to ensure optimal stock levels and supplier performance. This role focuses on building strong supplier relationships, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining the right inventory levels to meet market demand. The position requires data-driven decision-making, negotiation skills, and close coordination with the sales and commercial marketing teams.
Job Requirements
1. Supplier Sourcing & Negotiation:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to expand the company’s portfolio.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract conditions to ensure competitive purchasing.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any operational challenges.
2. Inventory Planning & Replenishment:
- Ensure optimal stock levels by monitoring sales trends and supplier lead times.
- Coordinate with the sales and commercial marketing teams to align inventory planning with sales targets.
- Analyze product performance and recommend restocking or discontinuation of slow-moving items.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to prevent overstocking or stock shortages.
3. Purchase Order Management:
- Process and track purchase orders (POs), ensuring timely deliveries.
- Verify order accuracy, quantity, and compliance with purchasing agreements.
- Address any delays, shortages, or quality issues with suppliers.
4. Cost Control & Profitability Optimization:
- Monitor and analyze purchasing costs to maximize profitability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Ensure that supplier pricing aligns with company pricing strategies.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing performance, cost trends, and supplier contributions.
- Use data insights to improve procurement strategies and forecast future purchasing needs.
