**Job Title:** Backend Developer

**Reports To:** Lead Backend Developer 

**Job Overview:** As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and application integration of our web and mobile applications. You will work closely with our front-end developers and design team to ensure system consistency and improve user experience. The ideal candidate should be passionate about building scalable software, capable of managing data effectively, and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

**Responsibilities and Duties:**
- Develop and maintain scalable, robust, and high-performance systems and services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in appropriate languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, or PHP.
- Design and implement data storage solutions (e.g., databases, key-value stores).
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced team members.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply them into operations and activities.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven work experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of server-side languages, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or .NET.
- Experience with database technology such as MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and/or SQLServer.
- Familiarity with development aiding tools (e.g., Git, Mercurial, Jenkins).
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS) preferred, but not mandatory.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good team working and communication skills.

**Additional Skills:**
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

**Work Environment:**
- This role typically operates in a professional office environment but may also allow for remote work as determined by company policy.
- Standard 40-hour work week, but may require additional hours to meet project deadlines.
