Job Description
Design and Development:
- Lead the design and implementation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for large-scale construction projects.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses to optimize system performance and efficiency.
Project Management:
- Oversee mechanical engineering aspects of mega construction projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
Client Liaison:
- Engage with clients to understand project requirements and provide expert mechanical engineering solutions.
- Present design proposals and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, international standards, and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control assessments to verify the integrity of mechanical installations.
Budget Management:
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and budget forecasts for mechanical systems.
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures as necessary.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- 8 to 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
- Experience in mega projects, especially 5-star hotels, is a significant advantage.
Skills:
- Proficiency in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of HVAC design, plumbing systems, and fire protection engineering.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, ASHRAE) are a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic (preferred).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
