Job Description

Procurement Engineer, Saudi Arabia

The Company

A construction company provides general contracting services for building construction, renovations, and infrastructure. It has diversified its project portfolio, spanning various sectors such as industrial, distribution, manufacturing, office, retail, recreational, healthcare, and commercial across the kingdom. Furthermore, it has recently joined a larger engineering services group, prioritizing value-added construction services, and has completed over SR 3 billion worth of construction across 60 projects, emphasizing strong customer relationships and outstanding performance. 

Work Location: Dammam (Sites), Saudi Arabia

Key Accountabilities 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Identify new potential suppliers and conduct supplier assessments.
  • Analyze supplier proposals and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and control procurement costs, ensuring adherence to project budgets.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
  • Implement efficient inventory management systems and strategies.
  • Ensure that all procured materials and services meet quality standards and project specifications.
  • Coordinate the logistics of material delivery to construction sites, ensuring timely arrivals.
  • Maintain detailed records of procurement transactions, contracts, and vendor communications.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on residential construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with the legal aspects of contracts and procurement.
