Job Description
- Monitor the effectiveness of treatment processes and identify areas for improvement for industrial wastewater treatment plant and boiler.
- Maintain accurate records of all data and generate reports for regulatory compliance.
- Recommend adjustments to chemical dosing, aeration rates, and other process parameters to optimize treatment efficiency and meet discharge limits.
- Collaborate with plant operators to implement process and ensure smooth operation. Train and supervise operator personnel on proper sampling, analysis, and safety procedures. Collect and analyze wastewater samples to measure levels of pollutants, such as biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), and pH.
- Follow up chemicals stock and make required purchasing request for it.
- Follow up all industrial wastewater plant equipment and maintain subduable preventive maintenance for it.
- Maintain lab equipment and troubleshoot or report on malfunctions.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience as a water treatment chemist (industrial wastewater and boiler)
- Laboratory work is a plus
- Good knowledge of laboratory health and safety standards
- Excellent analytical and research skills.
- BSc in Chemistry
- Additional certification (Master’s degree or a PhD) is a plus.
