Job Description

Role Purpose

An Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Specialist is needed for ICRC's Delegation in Cairo - Egypt. The ICT Specialist sets up and monitors small computer and communication infrastructures under the supervision of a qualified superior in the division/region. The qualified candidate should have a Technical or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or any other job-related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in troubleshooting in an area of the ICT service catalogue (workplace services, telecommunications, IT help desk, etc.).

General Duties:

  • Be aware of the delegation’s objectives and activities.
  • Understand the three components of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement
  • Always apply the security rules
  • Respect and observe the staff regulations of the ICRC in n.
  • The employee may be asked to perform other duties not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other departments when and if necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, repairs and monitors ICT equipment in line with ICRC standards.
  • Briefs end-users on standard computer systems (hardware and/or software), provides technical advice and assistance with IT equipment and its use and provides remote support when needed.
  • Manages inventory by monitoring database(s) and carrying out regular physical checks; manages stocks.
  • Allocates equipment in an efficient manner, considering users' needs and ICRC policies.
  • Keeps track of equipment allocations, dispatches equipment and follows up on shipments to and from other ICRC sites.
  • Keeps technical documentation up to date for all IT installations when relevant.
  • Comply with the ticketing system (Service Now - Service Management) follow up and handle tickets aligning with the ICRC standards by respecting the KPI’s (Key Performance Indicator) and SLA’s. (Service Level Agreement).
  • Knows and adapts to the local context ICRC global ICT policies, procedures, and standards. Reports to his hierarchy when they are not respected.
  • Deals directly with local providers of ICT material and services for small/medium local purchases and contracts.
  • Ensures all transfers of ICT equipment and makes sure that items travel properly and safely packed and accompanied by the necessary documents as per ICRC procedures and that reception is acknowledged.
  • Keeps updated inventory attribution of all ICT equipment in in compliance with internal procedures.
  • Repairs or makes repair externally faulty ICT equipment.
  • Aware of local ICT service providers and good understanding of the local markets.
  • Keeps the ICT office and stores clean, in order and always secured.
  • Contribute to weekly and quarterly reports.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for end-users of desktop applications, IP Phones, printers, and computer hardware.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, electronics, computer science or similar field.
  • Good command (spoken and written) of Arabic and English. French is an asset.
  • Very good ICT knowledge.
  • 2–4 years' troubleshooting experience in an area of the ICT service catalogue (e.g. workplace services, telecommunications, IT, help desk, etc.).
  • Microsoft Active Directory (GPO, DFS, groups management…).
  • Microsoft Windows Server environment. MCSA is considered as an asset.
  • Skype for Business, MS Teams, and Teleconferencing tools environment.
  • Wan/Lan management (SD-WAN, VPN, Vlan’s, DNS services, IP addressing, routing…), CCNA is considered an asset.
  • Adequate Knowledge & Experience in Connectivity Types & SLA’s
  • Proven record of delivering results and understanding of customer service principles.
  • Microsoft Windows 10, Office 365 and associated Microsoft cloud services.
  • Knowledge of VSAT systems, microwave/radio links and wireless applications.
  • Ability to provide IT support services including IT hardware/infrastructure support.
  • Good understanding on HelpDesk Management - ITIL Foundation is considered an asset.
  • Good understanding on Software Development and knowledge/skills on programming languages is considered as an asset.
  • Good understanding and knowledge/skills on Proactive Monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge and good understanding of Local Market Services and Authorized Suppliers is considered as an asset.
  • Excellent communications skills and team working spirit.
