Drives continuous improvement and optimization of machining operations and processes. Focuses on the development of people, selection & procurement of equipment, maximizing machine uptime and implementing systems. Develops and implements strategic vision, initiatives, and projects for the department.  

Optimizes the machining processes in terms of consistent quality and productivity.

5.    Central resource for technical expertise to Operations, Engineering, the Pattern Shop, Transmate, Maintenance and Tool and Die.

6.    Oversees program and setup of complex jobs on various manual and CNC machines including Turning Centers, Horizontal Machining Centers, CNC Milling Centers with 3 and 4 axis machines.

7.    Creates and develops CNC, select tooling, tool list and set-up sheets.

8.    Responsible for development and implementation of appropriate cost control and cost reduction initiatives within responsible functions.

9.    Collaboratively works with Engineers to identify machining approach, set tolerances, and identify design shortcomings.

10.  Responsible for department planning, coordination of scheduling, ensuring materials are available, and machines are well maintained with very little down time.

11.  Oversees planning for new product development process, selection of machines, tools, fixtures, and inspection methods.

12.  Implements and develops manufacturing processes, departmental SOP’s while adhering to all company manufacturing standards/methods and policies, including safety related initiatives.

13.  Practices and Maintains 5S standards in the workplace.
