Quality Controller

Job Summery:

• The Quality Controller will be reporting to the Quality Manager. The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality of the final product and the compliance to quality standards, in accordance with company standards and procedures.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Performs controls according to the quality control plan for each product, using lab instruments (scale, caliper, thickness gage, top load tester, torque meter, etc.)
• In case of non-conformities, provides support in the evaluation of quality problems and contributes to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to avoid their reoccurrence
• Fills in and verifies quality measurement information in the production sheets, timely signals any issues
• Checks incoming material against quality specifications and verifies documentation compliance
• Sorts defected bottles and contributes to decisions on discarding or keeping possibly defected batches
• Organizes and performs periodic training for new and existing staff on quality standards
• Performs calibrations of instruments and scales in the production area and quality lab autonomously or through suppliers
• Performs quality controls following technical interventions and during product industrialization to ensure the products reach the required quality standards
• Supervises quality and hygiene standards in the plant

Technical Skills:

• Excellent ability to use quality lab instruments
• General knowledge of industry specific technologies and productive processes
• Excellent knowledge of the attributes and qualitative variables of products
• Good knowledge of Quality, Hygiene and Safety standards, specifically of Quality related ISO norms and policies applicable to the packaging industry
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package
• General knowledge of written and spoken English
