Job Description
- Managing Accounts Payable: This involves processing and paying invoices from suppliers (food, beverages, cleaning supplies, etc.), ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Managing Accounts Receivable: If the restaurant offers catering or has corporate clients, the accountant would handle invoicing and collecting payments. For regular dine-in customers, this might be less direct but could involve reconciling daily sales with cash and credit card transactions.
- Compliance with Restaurant Regulations: Staying up-to-date with health and safety regulations and any specific financial reporting requirements for the food service industry.
- Handling Cash and Credit Card Transactions: Managing daily cash intake, preparing bank deposits, and reconciling credit card payments. This requires attention to detail and security.
- Inventory Accounting: Tracking the cost of food and beverage inventory, calculating cost of goods sold (COGS), and potentially assisting with inventory counts to minimize waste and theft.
