Job Description
- Performs tier 1 support for all incoming incidents and emails, which includes tickets creation, regular updates, follow up over tickets.
- Expertise in analyzing logs and troubleshooting codebase (Java) based on the findings in logs and use cases.
- Attempt to replicate and retest the scenario in the local/QA machine reported from the production.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Core Java/J2EE, JSP and Servlets, Struts, Hibernate, EJB, MQ, Websphere.
- Skills with Unix/Linux at a user level is desired.
- Experience and skills with relational databases and SQL, especially Oracle.
- Provides on-call support during off hours and weekends, if required.
- Gathers and qualifies functional and technical requirements. Coordinates design requirements, development and unit testing results.
- Critical thinking skills and a strong analytical mindset along with good communication skills.
- Experience with Service Desk ticket management, especially JIRA, and SLA operations.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting Web based applications.
- Assist in establishing the root causes of application errors, and escalating it to level 2, if not resolved.
- Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.
- Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics.
- Demonstrable experience as an application support engineer in a related field.
- Ability to manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor performance.
- Intermediate proficiency in determining the causes of application errors and repairing them.
