Job Description
- your role will be critical to the success of its launch. Ultimately, you are responsible for defining and executing engineering strategy, leading the execution of all aspects of engineering, from architecture to back-end software development.
- You will work closely with DOT’s CIO to build a strong foundation in engineering and deliver a platform that serve end-users in an innovative and secure way.
- In its first years of operation, the key area of growth for center around monetization, in particular, increasing the customer/partner base, and broadening the service capabilities. As such, you will work closely with the wider business, including the product and commercial teams, to sort and prioritize features that support these objectives.
- As a senior leader, you will help DOT own a strong position in the Fintech ecosystem and expand its capabilities to best address market needs.
- You are at the intersection of engineering and business. In other words, you will invest time immersing yourself in all aspects of the business, the platform and product architecture and establish strong working relationships across DOT’s functions while ascertaining critical needs within engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Grow and lead a highly engaged engineering team that manage and deliver the software development roadmap.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, enabling rapid product development, reliability, scaling the overall platform and implementing constant feature enhancements.
- Spearhead hiring initiatives and structuring teams into an optimal setup to allow for efficiency, fast iterations and scalability.
- Constantly allocate engineering resources according to business needs and shift capacities where needed (Build squads, scrum teams, matrix operating model)
- Prioritize customer, regulatory, product and business requests and integrate them into the software development roadmap.
- Source code control, build process management, continuous integration, automated testing and another development process
Job Requirements
Key Requirements
- An active and well-connected member of the tech community
- Pedigree technical education in a scientific discipline such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of back-end, front-end and mobile applications software engineering experience
- Hands-on engineering skills across a broad range of technologies
- Familiar with security standards and procedures necessary when dealing with sensitive financial information and regulated environments.
- Experience with Agile Methodologies such as Scrum
- Proven track record of hiring and managing top engineers
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels across functions
- Experience cultivating an environment of engineering excellence
- Financial and payment experience is a plus.
Technical Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of free and open-source software development and web application frameworks, e.g., Javascript, Java, .NET, .Net Core, C# etc;
- Strong knowledge of scalability and high availability systems
- Knowledge of UML diagrams, code, unit tests, etc.
- DevOps exposure is a must
- Experience in analysis, design, coding and implementation of next generation web applications in PHP and Python
- Experience working on high-traffic and large-scale web products
- Experience building large scale distributed systems
