Job Description
- Setup and maintain behavior management procedures and records, accomplishments, certificates and associated reports.
- Prepare and publish SIMS user guides and reports
- Provide staff training and literature specific to the schools use of SIMS.
- Manage system permissions, issuing passwords and ensuring all staff have correct access to the information management system.
- Develop the use of all SIMS modules across the school both for academic and administrative uses.
- Setup and manage systems for tracking the progress of students at each Key Stage
- Setup and maintain subject specific mark sheets in line with school policy.
- Manage the production of school reports according to the schools reporting schedule.
- Explore and develop other software applications to facilitate school operations including SIMS Learning Gateway and SIMS Discover.
- Support and improve the use of SIMS by staff generally.
- Support the Assistant Head with the technical aspects of producing the school timetable.
- Prepare new academic years on SIMS and promote current students. Ensuring a smooth transition from one academic year to the next on all aspects of SIMS.
- Setup and maintain registration groups, allocate student memberships, tutors and Pastoral Managers.
- Update and apply periodical and casual changes to courses, teachers and room allocations.
- To be able to use advanced formulae, macros and advanced functions to manipulate data and present it in an effective manner.
- To provide data to staff on an ad-hoc basis.
- To work with the Report Manager in setting clear and workable deadlines for data collection and reports.
- To keep up to data and check Support Net to keep the school informed about developments and issues related to SIMS.
- To maintain their own professional development and research training which would assist them in their role.
- To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of school related matter.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties requested by Line Manager
- The flexibility to work some additional hours on occasion, if required to meet deadlines for the production of reports.
- The job will involve meeting and liaising with a expatriate teaching staff and understanding the educational terminology used in meetings.
Job Requirements
- NCBIS is looking for a dynamic and motivated Computer Science or IT graduate who can work well independently and within the IT team overall.
- Therefore a high level of both spoken and written English is essential as is a working knowledge of database systems.
- Training will be provided on particular school systems, such as Capita SIMS, and as such applicant must hold a full passport and be able to travel for training opportunities.
