About the Role
To work together with your colleagues in the IKEA Food management team and to lead and manage kitchen production team to fulfil the purpose of our function by building business and people together. To strive to make people smile while providing irresistible food offers in a welcoming atmosphere that gives our guests a good reason to return again and again. To take ownership for ensuring food safety in all parts of the store and train others as appropriate. To lead and manage your co-workers so that we provide irresistible food offers of good taste and quality served in a safe and efficient way.
Key Specific Accountabilities
Customers
- Ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile. Meet and serve our guests showing empathy and care. Willing to listen and support them with an attitude based on the IKEA values.
- Always look at our store through the eyes of our customers. Have a daily dialogue with our guests to get continuous feedback about their experiences and to learn more about their needs and wants, then take action based on their input.
- To ensure our guest have a great shopping experience at all times throughout the day
Financial
- Monitor and control the food costs, operational costs, productivity, sales mix and recipe cost.
- Responsible for the efficient organisation of the business area in relation to financial performance i.e. gross profit, costs, hours planning, productivity levels, absence management and holiday planning to agreed service levels.
Operations
- Ensure efficient operations of the IKEA Restaurant & Café department with special attention to the preparation and serving of food that enhances both the customer and co-workers dining experience.
- Oversee the inventory and stock levels across the Food & Beverages department from purchasing, ordering and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Implement, develop and monitors the food safety and hygiene standards and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for both the customers and co-workers in accordance with the HACCP standards as well as the local health and safety regulations standards
Job Requirements
What’s more, we believe that you have the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:
- Live and share the IKEA values every day
- High School/Trade School Graduate preferably in hotel, business or culinary programme of study
- 3-5 years kitchen production supervisory/management experience preferably in a high volume business setting
- Experience of managing/leading and developing a team
- Preferably gained in a retail/food service environment
- Advanced knowledge of food production and food safety
- Experience of creating and executing action plans and setting budgets and following up on goals. Proven record of meeting agreed goal
- Understand KPIs and how to affect their results through departmental actions.
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize.
- Takes responsibility and can delegate when necessary.
- Communicates well with others and is able to influence and co-operate with different functions.
- Ability to see how IKEA Food contributes to increasing the overall performance of an IKEA store.
