Job Description:
The Cranes and Equipment Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and inspection of all cranes, heavy equipment, and mechanical systems used in the concrete pipe manufacturing process. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, operational safety, and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for cranes, forklifts, mixers, batching equipment, and other heavy machinery.
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment availability.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify faults or hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and manufacturer safety guidelines.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of components.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and reports.
- Plan and oversee equipment installations and major repairs or overhauls.
- Manage vendor relationships for outsourced maintenance services.
- Ensure proper training and certification of staff operating or maintaining cranes and heavy equipment.
- Recommend and implement upgrades or replacements for outdated or underperforming equipment.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in concrete products or a similar heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with overhead cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, batching systems, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, crane inspection standards and safety protocols.
