Job Description
- Monitor all stages of the content production process to ensure that the production schedule is adhered to.
- Maintain the material files and keep the media production department informed of any changes necessary.
- Maintain regular contact with team member to ensure that any minor amendments or corrections required by them are collated and implemented.
- Carry out proof-reading to ensure a high standard of accuracy in texts sent for production.
- Prepare manuscripts for editing.
- Commission and brief freelance copy editors and proof-readers and send proofs to authors for checking.
- Develop any required processes and procedures to ensure that publications are produced to the right standards to agreed dead- lines.
- Control the process for the production of publications, maintain- ing regular contact with external designers and printers, to ensure that publications are produced to the required standards and within agreed deadlines.
- Edit publications to ensure that they conform to a high standard of grammar and presentation.
- Research and draft articles for publication.
- Maintain any necessary records relating to the production and control of publications.
Job Requirements
- Qualification to degree level;
- At least 5 years’ editing experience;
- Detailed knowledge of publishing software;
- Well-developed proof-reading skills;
- Writing skills;
- Computer skills;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Excellent time management skills.
