DealGamed, one of the fastest growing startups in Egypt, is seeking a talented, self-driven Ruby on Rails Engineer who wants to join a fast-paced company and have a major impact on the development of the company’s technical infrastructure. The successful candidate will work with both frontend (HTML/CSS/jQeury) and backend (Ruby on Rails, Postgresql, AMQP, Hadoop) technologies to shape and grow our platform. The Engineer will also work closely with the company’s founders and will have the opportunity to make significant contributions that ensure the best user experience for our customers.
At DealGamed, you will
- Be an owner of what you build as you architect, test, and refine the DealGamed platform.
- Tackle a wide variety of technical problems and contribute daily to different parts of our code base.
- Work with the other teams to refine the user experience for our customers
- Help shape our company's culture and be a part of a cutting-edge and driven engineering team.
Job Requirements
To apply, you should have:
- 1+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
- Strong coding skills and computer science fundamentals
- Analytical problem solving skills
- Experience with Git or another revision control system
- Passion about writing code in your spare time
- A strong work ethic
- Strong communication skills
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- At least 2 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
- Fluency in the Ruby language, including familiarity with the language's meta programming features
- Experience with shell scripting
- Experience with REST APIs
- Projects on your Github/Bitbucket account that you are proud of
- Contributed to an open source project
- English fluency, both written and spoken
