Role and responsibilities:
Operation & Reporting
- Review weekly payments on banks tools.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
- On a timely basis report any tax, treasury, legal and accounting issues. Raise a flag regarding any irregularly, lack of compliance, lack of adherence, problems whether actual or potential concerning the financial systems, operations and any matter which could have a financial implication.
- Prepare/ review monthly journal entries and adjustments, including supporting documentation and appropriate descriptions.
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of accounts
- Assume complete responsibility for the processing of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, and share responsibility for processing Payroll.
- Review monthly banks reconciliations.
- Review monthly trial Balance on the monthly close and ensure all the accounts are well explained.
- Review monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
- Review monthly PL variance reports.
- Make sure that our banking mandates are up to date.
Other:
- Assist in development and implementation of new policies, procedures and tools to enhance the workflow of the department
- Support internal project to have process narrative documented and key preventive and detective controls in place for major financial cycles.
- Assists in the implementation of internal controls
- Maintain a checklist with all regular tax declarations and filings and compliance with local laws and regulations. Assists in managing tax audits
- Provide recommendations and perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting manager
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Prepares and / or reviews ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses and special projects, as necessary
- Ensure implementing the policy “NO PO NO PAY”
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce.
- Fluent in English and Arabic. French is a plus.
- 6-9 total years’ experience.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge in accounting.
- Team player and have ability to work independently.
- Oracle financial application experience preferred
