Job Description
Position Summary
Responsible for network infrastructure & security operations, maintaining, monitoring using SolarWinds or similar tools and supporting the network consisting of LAN, WAN, Firewalls, Security, VPN, Cabling, Data Centers using Cisco routers/FW, Checkpoint FW, Palo Alto Networks FW and Juniper QFX IP fabric.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing support of network connectivity issues to internal and external clients.
- Develop procedures for on-going and periodic overall network monitoring to maintain maximum security.
- Provide bandwidth analysis to ensure proper provisioning of data circuits is maintained
- Maintenance of Checkpoint Firewalls running.
- Maintenance and administration of Cisco switches and routers.
- System maintenance / preventative maintenance and special projects assigned by the Manager.
- Responsible for implementation and upgrades to data network equipment and network infrastructure.
- Analyze security risks and network vulnerabilities as well as way to mitigate these risks
- Configure encryption on wide area circuits, including Internet VPNs
- Manage Telco-related service issues
- Asset management of all network equipment
- Support network-monitoring tools supporting internal and external networks
- Assists other technical staff with technical recommendations and problem resolution
Job Requirements
Job requirements:
- 4+ years of Cisco network experience including the following:
- Cisco Routers and Switches (DRP and L2)
- Cisco Nexus Data Centre Switches
- Cisco Security Solutions (ASAs/IPSEC)
- 1+ year(s) working with Meraki, PaloAlto, or Aruba Devices
- Thorough understanding and experience with the following fundamental technologies:
- IGP and EGP routing protocols, ie: OSPF, BGP
- Route filtering and policy-based routing
- LAN-to-LAN/Site-to-Site and remote access VPN technologies
- DMVPN knowledge would be valuable
- Network layer Quality of Service (QoS)
- Experience working with Internet/WAN service providers, integrating with WAN technologies such as MPLS L3VPN, VPLS, EVPL
- Knowledge of industry best practice LAN design and deployment methodology and a structured approach to troubleshooting
- Ability to deliver concise, accurate technical documentation and diagrams
- Exposure and understanding of network automation techniques and technologies
- Knowledge of software development pipelines would be considered
