Job Description
- Setting and implementing the work plan for developing existing and new R&D projects in a timely and cost effective manner, developing product formulations that can be scaled up to production scale in an efficient cost effective manner as well as recommending improvements to existing processes and equipment.
*Strategic:
- Supervising the implementation of the Research and Development function plans.
- Developing the Research and Development work plan; assigning work activities, projects and programs, monitoring work flow, reviewing and evaluating work methods and procedures, and directing such activities to serve the Department's goals and plans
*Technical & Executive:
- Leading R&D pharmaceutical research efforts by developing a plan for respective projects that meets the overall objectives of the R&D function and
- Managing and organizing staff efforts in formulating and developing current and potential products that meet regulatory guidelines
- Reviewing and approving reports to ensure the implementation of the agreed upon new product development plan in a timely manner
- Preparing and presenting all necessary reports in a timely and accurate manner in order to keep top management informed on the process development work
- Developing new manufacturing procedures/ processes that increase batch size and minimize processing time, as well as minimize raw material costs
- Recommending improvements to the R&D pharmaceutical research laboratories by incorporating new equipment and technology to help develop more complex products
- Cooperating with the process development function to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from research to production and scale up
- Handling and responding to regulatory agency deficiencies and providing technical documents as needed
- Reviewing and planning training sessions on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) list and its updates for the R&D team
Job Requirements
Education:
- B.Sc. degree in Pharmacy.
- M.Sc. or PhD. in Pharmacy is preferred.
Experience:
- 10-12 years of experience in a related position, of which at least (3) in a managerial position.
- Ability to communicate clearly, work in a diverse team and meet project deadlines
- Highly collaborative leadership style with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to ever-changing situations. Must possess the ability to coach, mentor and lead a diverse staff.
