A Hardware Trojan (HT) is a malicious modification of an integrated circuit. More specifically, HT is embedded on the chip during manufacturing or in third-party intellectual property cores (IPs) during the design process.
HT is becoming serious especially with the widespread of fabless design houses. The position would be investigating the Deep Learning (DeepL) to detect the activation of HW Trojan at runtime after teaching the DeepRL model the actual specification of the IP.
To achieve this, we would like to start by building a framework for evaluating HT detection mechanisms. The ultimate goal of this framework is to be able to inject HT and evaluate different protection mechanisms at runtime.
This is a research project and candidates are expected to produce research publications.
