Job Description
- The Arabic Language Teacher will teach Lebanese Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic at various levels (elementary, intermediate, and advanced) to non-native speakers, both individually and in groups.
- (S)he will be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Arabic language in both its colloquial and formal varieties and able and willing to follow a standardized curriculum as well as to develop and deliver lessons and instructional materials to meet the needs of Arabic learners.
- (S)he will work independently as well as consult with the Lead Instructor on lesson planning and delivery.
Job Requirements
Education
- A university degree is required, preferably in Arabic language and literature, English language and literature, translation, or a related field.
Experience
- Previous language teaching experience.
Languages
- Native fluency in Arabic (Lebanese dialect)
- Excellent knowledge (practical and theoretical) of Modern Standard Arabic
- Excellent knowledge (practical and theoretical) of English
- Knowledge of other languages, especially French, is an asset but not required
