Job Description

Summary

Reporting to the Upper Management, the Procurement Manager coordinates all procurement activities within Bow and Ark. He/She will coordinate all purchasing activities for Shops, Factory and Head office. He/She is expected to exercise independent judgment and discretion with all matters relating to building partnerships with Vendors and Supplier.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain and manage purchasing spreadsheet and a key contact data base with all vendors.
  • Create and routinely implement introductory meeting with suppliers. That includes face-to-face visits, meetings, and presentations with vendors to maximize efficiency of purchasing.
  • Work with other departments in identifying their periodical purchasing needs.
  • Develop a periodical work plan for purchases based on strategic planning; including procurement budgeting with respect to supply lead times.
  • Monitor and manage bids, when applicable, and procure needed items when available.
  • Oversee procurement of all requirements of company whether it being local procured or imported.
  • Lead the purchasing function, developing the short medium and long term plans for the function
  • Develop the budget for the business unit for the purchasing portfolio
  • Ensure that suppliers can produce to agreed specifications, that they operate to recognized quality management systems in addition to health authority regulation and food safety management international regulation.
  • Supply contracts to be put in place to meet the production schedules of the factory.
  • Communication of market conditions, including costs and availability, for key materials. This should be made to MD level, followed where appropriate as briefings to Commercial, New Product Development and Cost Control departments.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have purchasing management experience and quality assurance training of not less than 5 consecutive years.
  • Must have general purchasing experience and quality assurance training of not less than 12 to 15 consecutive years.
  • Experience with distribution, logistics, and/or food procurement preferred.
  • Self-Starter
  • Excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
  • Able to apply mathematical concepts
  • Friendly, customer-oriented personality.
  • Professional attitude and appearance at all times
