Job Description
Reporting to the Controller, the Finance Manager is responsible for the monthly close, accounting, financial reporting and audit compliance for the company’s US and international corporate entities. You will actively pursue opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of finance processes and procedures. This position will work closely with newly acquired companies to solve unique accounting challenges that arise. Participate in special projects as required.
Responsibilities
- Manage financial accounts for 20+ companies
- Responsible for completeness and accuracy of your companies’ financial statements
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support for the General Ledger team including proactive guidance, troubleshooting support, and issue escalation
- Manage the monthly close process ensuring efficient and timely accounting
- Work closely with accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, tax and FP&A teams
- Perform monthly reconciliations and financial statement reviews ensuring you have a deep understanding of your companies from a business and financial perspective.
- Prepare companies for audit and act as liaison with external auditors and tax consultants
- Acquisition accounting, working with transition teams to integrate new acquisitions
- Identify opportunities to enhance/streamline business processes
- Function as an integral member of Versata Finance and provide insight and perspective on the overall operation and strategy of the finance department
- Assist with ad hoc accounting and financial projects
Job Requirements
Desired Skills & Experience
- Advanced level of accounting knowledge and US GAAP
- 5 to 10 years corporate accounting and managerial experience
- Accounting degree from top University, professional accounting qualification preferred.
- Proficient written and spoken English (bonus if fluent in German)
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Experience developing and implementing processes, procedures, systems and or standards
- Proficiency with ERP accounting software. Experience with Netsuite and/or Intacct a bonus.

Compensation: Total Compensation up to $60,000; paid at an hourly rate of $30.00. The position is a contractor position.
Location: Global (remote)
Commitment: 40+ productive hours/week
