Job Description
- Design, configure, deploy, and maintain the state enterprise security infrastructure.
- Actively protect state information technology assets and infrastructure from external or internal threats and ensure that the state complies with statutory and regulatory requirements regarding information access, security and privacy.
- Implement firewall solutions to properly secure State data and provide consultation on all new firewall implementations, firewall configuration changes, and projects requiring security operational support.
- Assist the end-user, other IT professionals, in requesting security variances and implementation of subsequent configuration change requests.
- Recommend best security practices to achieve stated business objectives, advises on risk assumptions for any variances granted, and provides alternatives to achieve desired end results.
- Incident response for any breaches, intrusions, or theft.
- Monitor systems for any anomalies, proper updating, and patching.
- Monitor vendor websites for potential threat alerts and software upgrades.
- Evaluates and performs planning, testing, and implementation of software and hardware upgrades.
- Maintains system documentation and configuration data for regulatory and audit purposes.
- Coach and guide Service Desk and Desk Side Support technicians in their incident response, directing incident first responder actions, and appropriately escalating issues.
- Work with third parties regarding licensing agreements and contracts, and interface with vendors and contractors.
- Provide mentoring, advice, and/or technical guidance to other members of the team.
Job Requirements
- Experience in building and maintaining security network
- Hands on experience in security Network, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
- Experience with network security and networking technologies and with security, and network monitoring tools
- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- Certified CCNA & CCNA Security. (CCNP Security is plus)
- Minimum 1-year experience in the same field
- Preferred ITIL Foundation Certification
