Job Description
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine project requirements and scope.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to gather essential information for cost estimation.
- Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project standards.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, historical records, and estimation tools for continuous improvement.
- Identify potential cost risks and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and value engineering.
- Assist in preparing tender documents, bills of quantities, and bid proposals for public and private sector projects.
- Monitor ongoing project costs and update estimates as required to reflect changes in project scope or market conditions.
- Participate in project meetings and provide cost-related insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure all cost estimation activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Make the needed description for all the items needed (items (structure work) – vendor/supplier list) in order to finalize the technical offer.
- Monitor and report the work progress of the Tender & Budgetary Engineer
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil / architecture engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3 to 6 years of proven experience in cost estimation within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with tendering processes and contract administration.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all estimation activities.
