Job Description
- Manages Basis administrators on the performance, reliability and availability of the SAP systems in alignment with industry standards.
- Implement the disaster recovery strategy.
- Responsible for the formulation and realization of performance goals as related to SAP systems.
- Works with other teams in order to solve technical issues. Establishes and monitors escalation of problems.
- Escalates SAP problems utilizing OSS problem notification and SIT (Help) Desk procedures
- Evaluates EarlyWatch reports and recommends appropriate changes based upon those reports
- Manages team on tunable parameters for SAP and OS systems, monitors performance parameters for their effectiveness.
- Evaluates trend analysis to detect long term performance problems and prevent performance degradation.
- Manage processes for the proper management of SAP including incident, change, and problem management
- Manage SAP client copies, system copies, imports / exports, and transports as needed.
- Manage project planning and execution for major activities such as software upgrades, software configuration changes and hardware upgrade or replacement.
- Develops plans and schedules the development, introduction, communication and maintenance of the SAP systems architecture including the applications and infrastructure architectures and assures that this architecture is integrated with the application road maps and strategies.
- Sets strategy on infrastructure products and new technology for all levels of management and technical staff
- Provide 24 hour on call support coverage as needed. Works weekends and late nights as needed.
- Work in conjunction with the technical team within the SAP Support Center to ensure solid technical design, systems execution, and appropriate business processes.
- Work with Application support teams in support of application performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Monitor the SAP landscape to ensure the system is performing as expected.
- Coordinate external access requirements in support of interfaces.
- Facilitate a strong working relationship with the SAP Solutions Delivery team. Negotiate and balance project priorities to ensure the SAP landscape maintains a high degree of stability and availability.
- Ensure system deliverables are functionally appropriate, technically sound and well integrated. Ensure team is accountable for accurate and complete documentation regarding process flows and design specifications.
Job Requirements
Education &qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the technical or financial field is required
Work Experience Requirements:
- +3 years of experience managing enterprise environments. Must have experience in both installing and maintaining SAP systems.
- Must have significant experience in ECC 6.0 or greater, SAP BW, PI, and Enterprise Portal. This should include leadership of technical installations in this area. Must have managed a few major system upgrades.
- Works cross-functionally with other technology groups to support the SAP landscape.
- Support the creation of the strategy and roadmap of SAP application architecture and maintain the technology architecture roadmap providing ongoing design strategy for future enhancements based on the current architecture. Develop and maintain SAP technical processes and procedures manual.
- Significant experience in at least 2 other SAP systems. This should include CRM, SRM, SCM / APO, Business Objects BI, or Solution Manager.
- The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the underlying technologies used to support ECC, BI, PI, Portal, Solution Manager, Java System Administration, Java Monitoring Tools, Central Monitoring Tools, NWDI, TMS, and CTS+.
