Job Description
Job Objectives
- Deploy the Oriental Weavers Manufacturing System based on lean manufacturing concepts and principals.
- Introduces, explains rationale and ensures support for new ways of working associated with OWMS.
- supports plant management to change the culture and mindset of people toward day-to-day continuous improvement by leading others to and through implementation of OWMS activities.
- Design and develop material handling systems to improve the movement efficiency & Quality.
- Communicates and engages at all levels within organization to achieve operational excellence using .
- Crystalline the best practices of the factory and make them public for replication.
- Reports to Lean Management System Manager as a part of Operational Excellence organization.
Job Duties
- Introduce the basic lean tools to the shop floor level such as 5S, Visual Management, Standard operation procedures, 8 type of waste, Process mapping, Lead Time breakdown, Takt Time, …etc.
- Support Building of organizational capability through developing employees by training and coaching and providing the knowhow techniques of Oriental Weavers Lean Manufacturing system.
- Support and facilitate teams and individuals to identify the needed lean tools and implement lean management system technique in day-to-day activities & continuous improvement projects.
- Give proposals for creating proper process KPI's, if required
- Align and update yearly OWMS action plan (dashboard).
- Evaluates current material handling process, considering innovations in material and methods.
- Lead and coach improvements activities to achieve most efficient and cost-effective handling and packaging procedures.
- Drafts sketches, samples, and written analysis of proposed designs or improvements to handling system, packaging, and other related elements.
- Collaborates with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand the specified material and the conveyance, transport, or other handling needs.
- Lead change in internal and external material logistics
- Train / assist Teams in learning of material handling Lean tools and techniques.
- Analyze the processes using the proper tool of process mapping such as VSM, Flow chart, Lane diagram, Spaghetti Diagram, Lead Time breakdown, …etc
- Analyze the process right loading and number of operators by using work Load analysis and Yamazoumi Chart.
- Create documentation on the best practices of the factories and make them public.
- Impose & deploy the competition spirit between different processes and factories through benchmarking and best practice sharing.
- Report on monthly bases the Lean management system performance and achievement to Lean management system manager.
Job Requirements
Practical Experience
- 1-3 years practical experience in lean manufacturing systems implementation and 3 to 5 years overall experience.
- Conduct awareness and training session to technicians and supervisors and leaders by himself is a must.
- Support Building a new lean management system and create documented procedures himself is a must.
Qualification & Certification:
- Certified lean manufacturing Green belt is a must, Certified Six Sigma Green belt or equivalent is an optional.
- Problem solving techniques.
- Cooperative and good communicator with all parties and different level of the organization, especially in shop floor level.
- Influencing skills: properly sell the ideas to convince customers
- Awareness of Continuous Improvement activities.
- Result oriented with structured approach.
- Good data analyzer.
- Report writing skills.
- Good trainers / Presentation skills.
- Adaptability in new challenges.
- Good Command of English.
Education:
- B.Sc. of Engineering or equivalent from reputable university.
Other Requirement:
- Knowledge of MS programs.
- Knowledge of MS Project.
- Knowledge of Minitab or equivalent programs.
