Position Title: Technical Support Intern
Type: Internship (Unpaid)
Duration: 4 months (renewable)
Location: 4 days from the office, 1 day remote (10 AM – 4 PM)
Job Description (JD)
As a Technical Support Intern, you will provide essential support for both hardware and software systems. You will work alongside experienced IT professionals, assisting in diagnosing technical issues, maintaining systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure. This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop foundational skills in a real-world technical support environment.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide timely and effective support for hardware and software issues.
- Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve problems related to OS, applications, networks, and hardware.
- Software Management: Install, configure, and update applications; resolve software-related issues.
- Hardware Maintenance: Maintain and repair desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals; perform hardware upgrades and replacements.
- Active Directory (AD) Management: Handle user account creation, group policies, permissions; troubleshoot AD issues.
- Azure Cloud Support: Assist with configuration, migration, and management of Azure-based services.
- User Training: Guide users in the effective use of hardware/software; update technical documentation.
- System Monitoring: Monitor system performance and implement data protection measures.
- Incident Tracking: Log and analyze support requests through a ticketing system; identify recurring issues.
- Collaboration: Work with IT teams to solve complex problems; contribute to improvement initiatives.
- Project Participation: Support IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
Internship Requirements
Job Requirements (JR):
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux.
- Familiar with enterprise software like Microsoft Office, ERP systems.
- Understanding of network configuration and basic troubleshooting.
- Experience with Active Directory and Azure Cloud services is desirable.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Customer service orientation with patience and calm under pressure.
