Job Description
Job Purpose
Responsible for designing, planning, and supervising the implementation of irrigation networks and wet utility infrastructure across agricultural farms, ensuring efficient water distribution, proper system performance, and compliance with approved technical standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design irrigation networks for agricultural farms based on crop requirements, water availability, and site conditions.
Prepare irrigation network layouts, hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and pressure requirements.
Design and coordinate mainlines, sub-mainlines, manifolds, valves, filters, pumps, and drip/sprinkler irrigation systems.
Conduct site surveys and assess existing infrastructure, water sources, elevations, and field conditions.
Prepare and review technical drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, material specifications, and as-built drawings.
Supervise the installation and implementation of irrigation networks at site.
Monitor contractors and installation teams to ensure execution according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Inspect installed pipelines, valves, fittings, irrigation equipment, and related infrastructure.
Coordinate pressure testing, flushing, commissioning, and trial operation of irrigation systems.
Identify and resolve technical issues during construction and implementation.
Coordinate with Agricultural, Mechanical, Civil, and Site Operations teams to ensure proper integration of irrigation systems.
Follow up on project progress, materials, quantities, and implementation schedules.
Ensure proper documentation of completed works and update drawings based on actual site conditions.
Support the maintenance and optimization of irrigation networks when required.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience in irrigation network design and site implementation, preferably within agricultural farms.
Good knowledge of irrigation systems, hydraulic calculations, and field execution.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil 3D or relevant irrigation design software is an advantage.
Good communication, coordination, problem-solving, and site management skills.
