Job Description

  • The Management and development of financial controls and system within the Finance department and across the organization.
  • The preparation, development and analysis of management accounting and others financial and reporting information
  • Responsible for the day to day controls of financial operation of the assigned international Projects
  • Support the Head of Finance and Corporate Services in developing and delivering the Organization's financial and business strategies
  • The Purpose of this role is to ensure effective Intl. project financial and management accounting across the Organization by:
  • The Management and development of financial controls and systems within the Finance department and across the Organization.
  • The preparation, development and analysis of management accounting and other financial and reporting information.
  • Responsible for the day to day controls of financial operation of the assigned International project. Support the Head of Finance and Corporate Services in developing and delivering the Organization's financial and business strategies.
  • Continuous review of projects financial control and management information systems and procedures, implementing improvements across the organization in consultation with Head of Finance.
  • Improving the systems surrounding all aspects of the organization's budgets, forecasts and business planning.
  • Control, analyze and report the financial position of the project.
  • To establish international project finance systems for the assigned project that will enable meeting project's requirement and integrate into existing systems.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports in line with narrative reports that meet the requirements.   Prepare quarterly consolidated financial reports, and ad hoc financial reports, as required by the Project Manager's and/or by Management.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on financial activity of individual projects.
  • To ensure that project cash flows (income, expenditure and fund transfers) are managed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Consolidated the project accounts into corporate budget.
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate project financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with International Accounting Standard (IAF & IFRS).
  • Perform various financial analyses such as reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Manage activities to prepare budgets and forecasts and to project and track financial metrics such as revenue, expense, etc.;
  • Interact frequently with senior level internal and external clients and firm leadership to present various analyses, discuss recommendations and provide project financial advice;
  • Able to build complex financial reporting models in excel and customize project financial reporting
  • Track expenditures and perform the client bill and receivable collection functions;
  • Perform and manage project management office (PMO) functional tasks and perform day-to-day contract management activities;
  • Conduct quality reviews of and provide feedback on the technical work products of junior resources; Support the growth and career development of junior resources by serving as an informal mentor and, to junior staff, providing them with regular career and professional development guidance; Participate in formal mid-year and year end performance assessment activities
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the overall Engagement Financial Services Practice through active involvement in one or more practice initiatives;
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing financial risk analysis and recommendations of risk management strategies.
  • Support Department head with project narratives in relation to expenditure and financial risks.
  • Facilitate internal and external audit processes in relation to the project and ensure audit requirements are monitored.
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting as compared to budget.
  • Review all important sub-contract payment.
  • Identify cost saving options and advice the finance head and projects department/management.
  • Review financial statements.
  • Administer and maintain the chart of accounts with all segment values and relevant security and validation rules.
  • Ensure proper checks, balances, reconciliations and revisions of GL accounts.
  • Key coordinator with external auditors during project audit.
  • Review cost allocation per dredger and per project, ensuring that all costs are properly allocated, accounted for and posted to correct cost centre.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Organization's Health & Safety policies.

 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications & Certifications;

  • Master or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or CA / CPA/ ACCA with costing back ground / Equivalent Professional Experience

Certification / Membership: Additional certifications and affiliations are beneficial.

Function specific experience

  • First-hand experience of Planning, Budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience of leading on financial aspects of multi-country / projects contract management and providing advice on complex financial management
  • Experience developing financial operational systems and schedules

Years of experience

10-12 years minimum of relevant experience
