Job Description

As the Legal and Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) Director, your role is pivotal in overseeing legal matters, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing risks. You will provide strategic legal guidance, establish and implement compliance frameworks, and drive governance initiatives, and legal soundness of our operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLegal Advisory and Compliance:Provide legal advice and guidance to executive leadership on a wide range of legal issuesEnsure compliance with local, regional, and international laws, regulations, and industry standardsStay informed about changes in laws affecting EWCF and the esports industry in Saudi ArabiaContract Management:Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, ensuring legal compliance and protection of the organization's interestsManage relationships with external legal counsel when necessaryDevelop and maintain a contracts database and tracking systemIntellectual Property (IP) Management:Safeguard the organization's intellectual property rights, including trademarks and copyrightsConduct regular audits to identify and protect against potential IP infringementsAdvise on strategies to enhance and monetize intellectual property assetsGovernance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC):Develop and implement a comprehensive GRC framework to manage risks and ensure compliance across the organizationEstablish and chair the Governance and Compliance CommitteeConduct regular risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategiesRegulatory Affairs:Interact with regulatory bodies, ensuring the organization's activities align with legal requirementsKeep abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the esports industry in Saudi ArabiaCollaborate with relevant stakeholders to address regulatory challengesPolicy Development:Develop and maintain organizational policies to ensure ethical conduct and complianceCommunicate policies to employees and stakeholders, providing training as neededRegularly review and update policies to align with changing legal and regulatory landscapesLegal Dispute Resolution:Oversee legal disputes and litigation matters, working closely with external counselDevelop strategies for the resolution of legal conflicts, ensuring minimal impact on the organizationCollaborate with internal and external parties to seek amicable resolutionsJob Requirements6+ proven experience in legal and GRC roles, particularly in the esports or entertainment industryIn-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian legal frameworks and regulatory requirementsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to provide strategic legal counsel and risk management guidanceProficiency in English and ArabicUniversity degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field; a law degree and relevant professional certifications are highly desirableWillingness to move to RiyadhBenefitsRelocation supportTransportation allowanceCompetitive compensationHousing allowanceVIP medical insuranceOpportunity to work on a new exciting project with a group of passionate professionals.
