Job Description
- Specializes in electrical systems; designs, shopdrawings and as builts for projects, including power distribution, lighting, light current, BMS and control systems.
- Ensures electrical designs and shopdrawings comply with local codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborates with other engineers to integrate electrical systems into the overall project delivery.
- Provides expertise during the construction phase, addressing electrical engineering aspects.
- Prepares cost estimates for MEP projects, considering labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Analyzes project specifications and requirements to determine accurate cost projections.
- Collaborates with the engineering and project management teams to understand project scope and technical details.
- Participates in tendering processes, including bid analysis and submission preparation.
Job Requirements
Project Management: Manage electrical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of electrical engineers, designers, and drafters, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical support as needed.
Technical Oversight: Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
Client Interaction: Act as a primary point of contact for clients regarding electrical engineering matters, including project progress updates, technical consultations, and resolution of engineering-related issues.
Coordination: Collaborate with other departments, such as mechanical engineering, architecture, and construction, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with overall building design and construction activities.
Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and software tools, to optimize project efficiency and meet project deadlines.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare and manage project budgets for electrical engineering activities, monitor project expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of electrical designs and deliverables.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure that all electrical designs and installations comply with applicable standards.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with electrical engineering projects, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to minimize project delays and disruptions.
Business Development: Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, preparing proposals, and contributing to the development of marketing materials and presentations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the electrical engineering department, and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality of deliverables.
