- Job Details:• Selected by National Marine Dredging Company CEO & CFO (Abu Dhabi – UAE) for Head Of Accounting And Finance role in November 2018 to establish financial and accounting department for branch expansion in Egypt I started implementation financial and accounting strategies, policies and procedures, manage the monthly, quarterly and annual business review process and assist NMDC- Egypt GM & Group CFO by providing periodic reports for board of directors, directly supervise 12-member team. Key Responsibilities: 1 – Strategic planning: Working collaboratively with GM, CFO & Senior operations director in formulating the following tasks: • Company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives. • Monitoring and directing the implementation of strategic business plan. • Managing the capital request and budgeting process. 2 – Operations Activities: • Participate in key decisions as a member of the management team. • Maintaining relations with all members of management team. • Manage the accounting, cost control and treasury sections. • Oversee the financial operations of regional units within Egypt. • Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsources (IT, legal services). • Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems. • Implement operational best practices and controls. • Represent the company with external auditors, Banks, clients, suppliers, and Tax Authority. 3 – Financial Reporting: • Oversee the issuance of financial information. • Review and validate company’s financial statements, monthly and quarterly reports. • Ensure that all financial statements comply with Egyptian GAAP and IFRS. • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly accounted in the general ledger. • Maintaining the chart of accounts, ensure educate and proper classification among accounts’ groups. • Ensure that corporate policies and procedures are adhered to all financial transactions. 4 – Budgeting, performance evaluation and decision-making support: • Review and validate all budgeting process procedures (time frames, documentation and negotiation). • Working collaboratively with all management levels for preparing the annual business plan. • Review and approve all management reporting package with variance analysis, develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and recommend corrective actions. • Provide management with decision evaluation related to acquisition new fixed assets and recommend suitable financing sources. 5 – Funding and working capital management: • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts & invest funds. • Establish and maintaining access for short, medium- and long-term financing. • Monitor all items of cash conversion cycle to ensure proper credit policies and cash turnover. 6 – Risk management: • Understand and mitigate key elements of company’s risk profile. • Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry. • Construct and monitor reliable control systems. • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage and represent company with insurance brokers, insurance companies & P&I clubs. • Ensure that company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and
