    • Job Details:Wind load analysis on a novel irrigation system As a freelance CFD Engineer, I have worked on diverse projects that have enriched my expertise, broadened my CFD modeling skills and capabilities, and enhanced my client collaboration skills. Key projects: • Flood flow analysis over a building. - The analysis aimed to predict the forces and moments acting on the building’s beams and columns, as well as the water height over the building under varying flood flow rates. The analysis was conducted using interFoam solver, an openfoam VOF-based approach solver. • Twin atomizer spray modeling. - The analysis aimed to investigate the operational boundaries of the atomizer working mode -flow blurring vs flow focusing- based on geometrical variations and air-to-liquid ratio. Additionally investigating the internal structure of the flow inside the liquid tube in the flow blurring mode. - - The analysis was conducted using the openfoam solver interFoam, incorporating LES, VOF, and AMR methodologies. I also proposed a computationally cost-effective alternative by employing the VOF-To-Lagrangian approach using a customized developed solver, atomizationFoam. • Subcritical boiling of R-134a in microchannel. - The analysis aimed to predict the boiling location, if exists, for the subcritical boiling regime of R-134a liquid injection in microchannels. This was conducted for different cross-section types including circular and those with protrusions. - The analysis was conducted using interCondensatingEvaporatingFoam solver, an openfoam VOF based solver, that considers heat and mass transfer due to evaporation and condensation. • Heat pipe modeling for heat pipe nuclear reactors. - The study focused on developing a simplified conjugate heat transfer (CHT) model representing the heat pipe regions as three conducting solids and validating it with its equivalent thermal circuit. This model was designed for integration into a Multiphysics simulation for the reactor. - The simulation was carried out using the foamMultiRun application in openfoam v11 and was successfully validated against its equivalent thermal circuit. • Wind load analysis on a novel irrigation system - The purpose of this analysis is to assess how the wind affects the system and inspect the causes of system failure. - - The study involves predicting the unsteady forces over individual components using OpenFoam which is then considered as input for a separate dynamic structural analysis. The study revealed the primary factors behind system failures, along with recommendations for preventing them.

    Feb 2023 - Jul 2023 -5 months

    France

    • Job Details:My Role includes: • Analyzing CFD cases and performing simulations for different analysis types such as multiphase flows (free-surface flows), heat transfer (buoyancy-driven flows), porous medium, and rotating bodies. The projects are solved in OpenFOAM. The work includes CAD cleaning using Salome, meshing using block Mesh, snappyHexMesh, and Salome, then case setup for the different physics involved, and finally post-processing with ParaView, and function objects with Gnuplot and Python. Also, write shell scripts to automate the process. • Interpreting the results and providing technical reports. • Validating the results with experimental data. • Mentoring a fresh graduate engineer, helping in simulation crashes, and sharing knowledge and experience.
