• Job Details:• Customs & Logistics Support role with primary responsibility in the coordination of all goods from point of acceptance / delivery to BGE’s final destination point. This includes all transportation modes and Customs procedures including delivery services. Responsibility includes exports and / or returns from BGE to final destinations. Function related interface with EGAS & EGPC counterparts. • For import and export shipments through, work closely with Contractors and freight forwarder: accepting shipping documentation for review and acceptance (insuring accuracy and compliance to Egyptian Customs procedures and laws). • With receipt of shipping documents, assign and issue Work Authorization to customs brokers to complete customs formalities. This also includes the provision of EGAS & EGPC budget categories as required for submittal of declarations to Customs and answering all questions to properly identified/code goods for customs clearance. • Maintain transportation log that lists all inbound / outbound shipments with reference to mode of transport, purchase order / contact number, work authorization references to freight forwarder and customs broker, quantity, weight, volume, value of shipment, description of goods, clearance date and date of delivery to BGE • Monitor all aspects of shipments in process (as handled by freight forwarder or customs broker) with special emphasis on critical shipments to meet Well Engineering delivery deadlines • With in-country purchases and / or upon customs clearance of shipments, coordinate and arrange delivery of goods to BGE’s POD. This includes close cooperation and coordination with the customs broker, transportation company and company receiving points • Provide updates and status of shipments as requested by the Drilling Team • For export shipments, provide import documents to the freight forwarder and the customs broker. Note : I had the opportunity to contribute in digging one of the most difficult wells in the Middle East located in the Mediterranean sea (offshore) high pressure (7000m depth) and high temperature I also was responsible for the transfer of Drilling Materials with total value of 16,000,000.00$ from Umbrella of Shell Egypt to Umbrella of BG International which is a process includes a lot of negotiations and Document Tracing with both Shell and Egyptian Authorities
