    • Job Details:The Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) is one of the leading diversified international contractors in the Middle East & North Africa. HLG offers engineering & infrastructure services to the Oil & Gas industry that includes design, development, construction, operation & maintenance. I reported directly to the group GM or OM. I was responsible for the control, execution & management of two mega EPC Oil & Gas projects; ENI ZUBAIR IPF – Basra, Iraq, (c. 900 MUSD). • Assigned by Weatherford for the Brownfield Construction of 6 x. 50,000 bbl/d Initial Production Facilities, including the engineering & construction of civil, utility, process & infrastructure works. • In this client facing role, I was predominantly responsible for the delivery of all the equipment Installation, electrical/instrumentation, oil & water storage tanks. I had 18 direct & 1,500 indirect reports • Initially Dubai head office based (though latterly site based in Iraq), I assigned, monitored & controlled the progress of the in-house & subcontracted engineering, procurement, logistics & site execution teams. • I organised team structures & set key delivery targets to minimise project delivery schedules. • When the tank supplier was de-scoped due to poor performance, I directly lead the in-house tank erection teams to ensure successful delivery of HLG’s contracted scope of works. ZADCO AUP750 – Abu Dhabi, UAE, (c. 600 MUSD) • Engineering, procurement and construction of accommodation & utilities for 4 No. artificial islands in the (ZADCO) Upper Zakum offshore oil field located 84km off the coast of Abu Dhabi, including: Accommodation for 2,250 people; Kitchen, mess, laundry, Recreation, Mosque areas; offices, workshops; Power, water, diesel fuel & sanitary systems • In this client facing role, I was responsible for all the off-shore construction activities. I had 24 direct & 1,100 indirect reports. I was accountable for the management & control of the main equipment suppliers. • I improved project delivery by conducting regular project/step reviews to identify & implement ‘lessons learnt’ both internally & externally. • I accelerated project delivery by adequately resourcing the project & reorganising project structures to be able to execute construction delivery on multiple work fronts simultaneously. • I was a member of the ZADCO Safety Steering Team for this project. I set & implemented HLG’s safety improvement strategies. By conducting regular site tours I improved our site team’s safety performance & management safety system compliance. This massively improved our reputation with the client.
