HSE Supervisor

• Job Details:Work in the department of safety and security (DSS) and liaise with management to ensure compliance with health, safety, security and environmental regulations and guidelines. Plan, develop and conduct periodic inspection of barge terminal facility and heavy equipment to identify and eliminate potential hazards and risks. Develop HSE plans, HSE policy and objectives based on management framework and periodically audit them for improvements. Conduct risk assessments and ensure risk reduction/control measures are undertaken. Conduct incident investigations to determine root cause in order to eliminate future incidents and communicate all lessons learnt from incidents to prevent re-occurrence. Ensure all daily/weekly unsafe acts and conditions recorded by HSE officers are tracked and closed out by the responsible staff. Organize and conduct annual refresher induction and trainings to drivers, operators, barge and terminal clerks at different levels with appropriate records maintained. Lead HSE committee meetings quarterly to drive a strong health and safety (HSE) culture and build a safe workplace. Provide support to HSE officers by maintaining a visible presence in site and providing health, safety, security and environment technical support. Ensure quarterly emergency drill is done to boost preparedness of worker’s response to emergency.

Reach Stacker Operator

• Job Details:Operated reach stacker for container handling. Followed strict safety protocols to ensure safe and efficient loading/unloading of containers. Performed routine maintenance checks and ensured the equipment was in proper working order.

HSE Officer

• Job Details:Monitored barge terminal operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Ensured safe moorings and berthing of barges and tug boats at the jetties, and safe loading/unloading of container units. Carried out random alcohol tests with breathalyzer on drivers suspected to drive under influence. Kept proper maintenance records of barges, reach stackers, cranes and terminal trucks with checklists and ensuring minimal disruption to jetty berth walls. Investigated incidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions. Conducted tool box meeting every morning to increase safety involvement and awareness at grass roots level. Used company’s database software to create and submit reports of observations, inspections, investigations and follow-up actions. Identified accident causes and optimal prevention strategies by conducting thorough investigations and analyses. Reviewed work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance and safety. Ensured and implemented participation in regular emergency response exercises and drills that are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in any emergency.
