• Job Details:My graduation project was a website designed to connect people who want to donate items, money, or goods they no longer need with individuals and families in need. The platform had two main components: one for donors to list available items, and another for recipients to apply for assistance by submitting their information and proof of need. I was responsible for the machine learning component of the project. Since we didn’t have access to real-world data from people in need, I created a synthetic dataset using Excel to simulate different applicant profiles. I then used Python to develop a model that could evaluate each application and assign a certain number of "points" — a system we designed to act like a digital currency within the platform. These points allowed recipients to "shop" for donated goods according to their level of need. Through this process, I gained experience in Python programming, especially in data handling and function building. I also worked closely with Excel to create and manipulate the dataset, and I developed logic to automate decision-making based on predefined criteria. This project helped me strengthen my technical problem-solving skills, learn how to simulate and test data-driven systems, and collaborate on a socially impactful solution.
