• Job Details:Design and develop production and maintenance strategies (maintenance policy) to optimise costs and operations which include job tracking systems, stores inventory, etc. Develops operational procedures and standards to achieve business goals and establishes contracting strategies (out sourcing) for programmed maintenance. Coordinate and monitor resources - MRP and ERP including quality management systems for the following products to be put on to the production line – engineer’s bench vice, carpenter’s vice, field mower blades, conveyor belt fasteners, bumi pumps, b type bush bump GP pumps, any machining and structural jobs. Monitors and contributes to the best practices, quality assurance, and cost control for existing asset enhancement. Develop and accountable for budget plans to control production and maintenance expenses for the production department and meet cost objectives of which an explanation is required monthly why the budget has burst. Supervises, measures, motivates, coaches, and develops subordinates to achieve set departmental and business objectives. Implementing pull system (internal/external) as a way to have effective communication by engaging all levels in the organisation including support department or customers to analyse and ensure that production targets are met thus controlling manufacturing performance in real time and post mortem Responsible for technical support that applies identifying equipment, value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign and make/buy decisions of all machinery and tools to effectively execute each project – project management and lean manufacturing techniques. Manage risk to the achievement of an organisation’s strategic objectives in the areas of environmental health and safety, production, asset capability, quality- manage the life cycle asset management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets-overall equipment effectiveness(OEE), remaining useful life, other parameters that define operation condition, reliability and cost of assets. Participate in the development criteria for and evaluating of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develop acceptance tests and inspection criteria. Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/ security systems. Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, monitor, modify and refine an asset maintenance plan, a production schedule plan that includes value added preventive maintenance tasks and production tasks. Providing input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability and non-reliability related risks that could adversely impact plant /factory operation. Monitors and evaluates performance of service providers and also performance measurement for the production department. Plans, schedules, and coordinate reliability centred maintenance system (RCM coupled with) total productive maintenance (TPM) -risk based inspection (RBI) - Root causes analysis (RCA)-TQM for (internal/external) to ensure facilities remain in optimum condition. Periodically review on site work of internal and external technicians to ensure that work meets expectations. Manage and supervise facilities development and image enhancement projects, aligned with strategic network and business plans, to ensure that projects are completed within timelines, budget, to meet required design standards. Work with maintenance team and accounts to prepare business cases for capital/major expenses monies. Work with accounts for store inventory e.g. CADEX systems, economic order quantity, fixed order level, hybridization (time driven and event driven dynamics) and also using queuing system where the above does not apply. Ensure that the required documentation (assembly procedures-work instructions .etc.), tools (jigs, assembly fixtures set ups, tooling etc.) and required assembly skills/knowledge/assembly staff training are available for the mass production of the product. Instil continuous improvement culture (KAIZEN) and leading manufacturing of products with good quality at low cost. Doing work measurements (time and motion studies) to have actual material flow and capacity planning, productivity, connectivity focus, material handling and ergonomics .Approval of prototypes and manufacturing of samples for the customers. Design and develop service level agreements (SLA’S) and any other communication means that promotes production and maintenance standard, the objective being to reduce response time, resolution time, call back time, appointment time and minimum expertise-pricing. Actively promote and maintain all Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) policy initiatives with zero tolerance of non-compliance and strive to achieve and maintain an incident free environment.
