Job Details:• Design and execute experiments to study the effects of antidepressant medications on monoamine and hippocampus pyramidal neuron firing, using electrophysiological techniques, in vivo, in both rats and mice. • Analyse, interpret and present experimental findings in the form of research seminars, and posters in conferences including the Society of Biological Psychiatry (SOBP), Young Researchers Forum (YRF), the American College of Neuropsychiatry (ACNP) meeting, and the European College of Neuropsychiatry (ECNP) meeting. • Coach and supervise new laboratory recruits on depression literature and carrying out in vivo electrophysiological experiments and surgeries on rodents. • Identify and troubleshoot existing set up problems that arise while carrying out typical experiments, as well as experimental techniques that are novel to the research unit. • Prepare and transcribe manuscripts for submission to scientific journals.
