• Job Details:Role Purpose within MIU is to develop world class IT capabilities for supporting the MIU business areas, implementing IT based processes and systems and promote innovative IT based solutions for MIU. As an IT Director my role was to formulate and integrate IT Department strategy with the business strategy and to ensure that IT Department operation is in alignment with the business objectives of the institution. Also my role was to unite all areas of IT service provision towards the aim of delivering value to the business. • Implement agreed strategies and associated plans • Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, strategies, and operating procedures. • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development. • Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets and keeping control of business expenditure. • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives. • Develop and maintain the University wide project management methodology, based on educational standards. • Develop, maintain and review the University project programs. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule that meets the agreed objectives and business needs. • In partnership with senior management team, identify areas of potential business development. Conduct appropriate research and feed into the strategy development process. • Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan • Be responsible for the management of IT and systems risks and ensure maximum system up time. • Performing routine audits of all IT systems and projects. • Lead the IT department and ensure that the staff is aligned with Senior University’s vision, mission, values and strategic priorities. • Managed the Information Technology function, providing leadership, coaching, encouraging teamwork and facilitating processes in order to achieve high performance standards and staff pride in performance and contribution. • Coached the IT team, clarifying goals, building resilience, stoking motivation, providing feedback, and align work with our strengths. • Formulate the Information Technology strategy, policies and procedures. • Maintain security of systems • As a Product Owner, successfully designed and implemented the major systems introducing online system for student information system (linking MIU different departments) also attendance systems, camera based system, data show reservation, room schedule system, IT asset and document control system, IT inventory system, helpdesk system, bookstore and Human resource system. • Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems • Formulate and review hardware and software acquisition, maintenance contracts and service level agreements and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale. • Introduced new hardware, software, internet connections and video conferencing. • Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all IT staff in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies
