Coatings SuperintendentFull Time

• Job Details:• In charge of all production and maintenance activities for the two pipe coating lines in Soltuca. One coating line dedicated to internal and external pipe coating from 16” to 68” using liquid epoxies according to AWWA standards. The second pipe coating line is used to externally coat pipe from 2” to 42” for the petroleum and gas industries, according to NACE, API, CAN Z245.21, PDVSA and DIN30670 • Installation and commissioning of all the equipment and machinery: the plant was half built and installed, so I had to design and manufacture the missing equipment, install and operate them. • Training of new workers. • Maintenance of equipment: directly in charge of all maintenance activities, preventive maintenance (oil and filter changes, wear part replacement) and corrective maintenance (failure diagnosis, replacement of bad or broken parts, mayor overhauls) • Establish programs and procedures for preventive and correct maintenance. • Budget planning and cost estimates: Soltuca's sales and marketing department relied on my cost estimates for tender processes. • Review of weekly and monthly production and planning meetings. Production meetings where held with all supervisory staff for production and maintenance where all performance data was reviewed and compared with past data. Achievements: • Designed and manufactured a pipe handling add-on device to a Hyster 330 forklift to improve productivity in coated pipe handling, minimizing coating damage by 70% while making pipe handling 50% quicker • Upgraded old FBE pipe coating equipment bringing them up to modern standards reducing waste by 40% • Designed and Manufactured a new coating conveyor, reducing equipment malfunctioning and failures cutting plant downtime to less than 5% and incrementing coating line speed by more than 50% • Refurbished and upgraded one 800 Kg/hr and a 200 Kg/hr plastic extruders for pipe coating
