Job Details:I was part of an Expatriates group, which consisted of British, Indian and Norwegian- Members. We covered all fields of engineering in a Danieli steel mill. My position with Al Ezz Steel Rebar’s was as engineering head of maintenance/planning for all maintenance activities (Mechanical & Electrical). This included 2 - Rolling Mills (800 k/t bar rolling mills) and 1 Melt Shop (80MVA, 600 k/t). Responsibilities included: • Improve/ upgrade and run all planning maintenance activities for all 3 plants. • Coordination between departments (Engineering, Production department, Log. Etc). • Supervise all weekly shutdown-meetings and major shutdowns. • Follow up jobs on maintenance day for all departments in all plants. • Member of project teams for new/upgrading equipment’s for the plants. • The computerised maintenance planning system was from First Engineering – Egypt. • The company was certificated for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

Job Details:BSI was a member of Metro Group, which consisted of 80 companies at that time. BSI had 2-older rolling mills, 1-older steel-plant and 2-new rolling mills. My position with BSI was as a Maintenance planning engineer for all maintenance activities and a co-ordinator between departments, for a new 300-k/t-bar rolling mill. Responsibilities included: • Implementation of a new computerised maintenance planning system and coordination of the maintenance workforce in line with the new maintenance philosophy being adopted. • Translation of technical manuals into procedures for use by non technical workforce. • Building up a drawing system and identifying all the technical equipment at the new mill. • Supervision of 2 Indian engineers and 1 Thai engineer. • The computerised maintenance planning system was built in DELFI and based on database (Microsoft-access plus oracle).
