• Job Details:As an English language instructor in a premier provider of language training, I helped adult students learn how to think and speak in English, and provided clear instructions in a lively manner to keep them engaged. I often had to work more than 12 hours a day and under pressure, and was considered a vital employee. Responsibilities & Approaches: - Built self-confidence which is crucial for those learning how to speak a new language - Made lesson plans that included music, video clips, and pictures as well as group activities and games - Provided students with tools for self-improvement - Gave students assignments that went out of their comfort zone but had a positive effect on them (provided them with a sense of achievement) - Gave each student a review of their performance and how they could improve - Made corrections and encouraged self-correction - Assessed students’ language proficiency level - Built rapport that kept students re-enrolling at Berlitz (had the highest re-enrollment rate for six months in a row) - Helped new instructors by giving them tips, ideas, or lesson plans
