- Job Details:DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DUTIES 1. Report directly to the School Director and Headmaster (via a daily written report). 2. The Head of Discipline should always act according to the School Rules and Regulations and should consult the Principal before taking any disciplinary action. 3. Be on duty every morning to check the students’ uniform as they enter the gate. Take the necessary action should a student arrive out of uniform. 4. Closely monitor the students who arrive after 7:45 am to determine whether or not they should be allowed to enter school 5. Carefully monitor teachers who award too many punishments to decide whether or not this is due to poor class control 6. Follow the Punishment Procedures. If a teacher or the Head of Discipline want to punish a student they should first go to the Class Teacher who will fill in the Punishment File, the School Director should approve and sign and finally the Headmaster will make a note in the link book of the student. 7. At present certain teachers will punish a student only because they don’t like them. this must be stopped. Every disciplinary action must be investigated by the Head of Discipline 8. Too many students are punished without knowing why they are being punished and the Head of Discipline must ascertain that the student understands the reasons for being punished as well as the reason should clearly be stated in the student’s link book. 9. The Head of discipline should spend most of his time going around the school premises to make sure that all students and teachers are in their classrooms. 10. Should be aware and informed of any disciplinary problems on the bus (should be informed by the bus supervisor) and act according to the School Rules and Regulations. 11. Supervise or arrange supervision of students who have been given after school detention 12. Supervise or arrange supervision of students who have received detention during breaks or mini- clubs.
