Assessing the impact of COVID-19 on the main sectors of the Egyptian economy to determine the most negatively and positively affected sectors based on sectors’ volatility, dependence on informal workers, global supply chains and other sectors, as well as sectors’ labor intensity and demand elasticity. Assessing Egypt’s economic sectors in terms of contribution to growth and employment, volatility, gender wage differentials, youth employment and government priorities for a study done for USAID’s ‘Strengthening Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development’ (SEED) project. Conducting sectoral studies based on secondary research on selected sectors such as the housing sector including a market overview, demand and supply analysis, trade analysis, regulatory landscape and sectors’ challenges. Engaging with clients and providing ongoing support in the areas of preparing tailored reports, providing economic data and preparing presentations about the Egyptian economy to be presented to the management. Supervising at least two interns each summer. This includes preparing their internship program, assigning tasks to them, making sure they are learning, and providing feedback. Preparing economic infographics for AmCham Business Monthly magazine (on a monthly basis), Egypt Oil & Gas Magazine (on a monthly basis), AUC Business Forward, InvestGate, Daily News Egypt, Al-masry Al-yom and Oxford Magazine.
