• Job Details:AB Communications is a group of media companies which include (ZiFM Stereo, Hevoi FM,98.4FM, Mighty Movies, Truck Ads Media, 6FingerRecords, XCMG Zimbabwe, AB Communications Zambia) just to mention a few. As the ICT Officer/Manager I am responsible for the day to day IT requirements of the group, such as user management, trouble shooting, help and advice, procurement of ICT consumables, maintaining desktop applications, Local and Wide area networks, IT security, telecommunications and all other ICT solutions required Duties: • Diagnosing & resolving hardware, software & end user problems. Acting as the first point of contact for all IT & technical queries. • Developing the infrastructure and systems to meet the company’s needs. • Communicating with third party technical specialists. • Configuring and managing backup & restore procedures. • Maintaining a wide range of computer hardware and software programs. • Identifying & reporting on the budgetary implications of IT projects and upgrades • Responsible for the recruitment and training of new technical staff. • Deploying new hardware, server backups & evaluating new software & security risks. • keeping abreast of constant changes in technology by investigating new systems, techniques and equipment - especially new internet based technologies • Developing and using awareness of best practice in health and safety for the workplace • interpreting and implementing instructions and requests from producers, directors and other colleagues • Keeping up to date with the industry by building and maintaining a network of contacts. • Strengthening the IT infrastructure through to implementing new technologies. • Performing routine audits of systems and software. • Manage the IT budgets and expenditure on hardware and software. • Developing & maintaining the company IT systems, software and databases. • Recommending and implementing improvements and efficiencies. • Reporting to the Chief Engineer & Chief Executive. • Management of server software and associated backup routines. • Procurement of IT hardware, software and maintenance products & services. • Writing documentation for ICT procedures, security and disaster recovery. • Maintaining documentation of changes regarding users, functions & systems. • Managing the internal & hosted network infrastructure including: firewalls, servers, switches and telephony.

• Job Details:Was accountable for the following systems: Linux and Windows systems that support Oracle Database infrastructure; Linux, Windows and Application systems that support Asset Management; Responsibilities on these systems included provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual maximum performance of Oracle Databases
