Architect Team LeaderFull Time

• Job Details:United Nations Relief & Works Agency (UNRWA), NMU, Design Unit, Tripoli, Lebanon. Reconstruction of Nahr El-Bared Refugee Camp.  Lead, coordinate and guide a team of architects, assistant architects in the preparation of preliminary architectural designs, drawings and all other necessary documents for a number of residential and commercial units comprising a number of residential blocks comprising of Nahr El-Bared Camp; ensuring consistency with an improved overall vision for the urban design/layout of the camp; ensure on-site compliance with the designs approved by the families and subsequently the Government, through site inspections, assessment of construction work and reporting , facilitate coordination between the Site Office and Design Section, prepare designs and drawings , update plans to remove discrepancies with reality, and improve future designs to increase the units’ functionality or reduce time/cost of their design and construction, coordinating the infrastructure projects(power plants & generators -water & sanitation pipes) with the housing units .  Meet various counterparts in connection with the part(s) of the site/project under their responsibility, including the consultant engineer, the contractor, and the families.  Establish contact with community groups, collect information, identify problems and constrains in order to ensure effective project delivery, support social workers in dealing with families’ appeals.  Assist the project manager in the day-to-day co-management of the project ensuring its successful implementation on time, within budget, to the quality approved, and with the envisaged high community participation component.
