Work Experience

  • Resourcing InternInternship

    Vodafone Group

    Jun 2017 - Sep 2017 -3 months

    • Job Details:During this past summer I completed a resourcing internship at Vodafone’s headquarters in London. I was involved in various projects including developing Vodafone’s first ever candidate pack sent to all shortlisted candidates, developing a handbook for new recruiters, developing and sharing an events and awards calendar, nominating Vodafone for external awards, doing research on improving the candidate experience and employer branding, and supporting the Employment Offers team. My first project was researching ideas on how to improve the candidate experience during the application process. After conducting research, I developed a presentation with the conclusions I found that would help improve Vodafone’s candidate experience. This project introduced me to the attraction element of HR where the focus is on attracting the best talent for the business, which involves providing candidates with a seamless application process that portrays the company’s culture. Still focusing on the attraction element of HR, my second project involved developing a candidate pack to send out to shortlisted candidates. The aim of this pack was to provide candidates with vital information about Vodafone that is meant to help them prepare for their interviews as well as keep them engaged during the recruitment process so that they are interested in Vodafone and don’t decline offers later on. To complete this project I had to network and meet with a lot of managers and colleagues to get the information I needed, which is something I really enjoyed as each day was different. This experience increased my passion for HR as I realised that my work will eventually contribute to the company delivering its business performance and that responsibilities are wide-ranging. Overall, I learned that HR ensures a company is developing the right people to exceed its goals.
  • InternInternship

    American Chamber of Commerce

    Jul 2014 - Aug 2014 -1 month

    • Job Details:During the summer of 2014, I completed a 1 month internship at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt where I joined the membership department. My main responsibility was to help the team form the 2015 directory by contacting CEO offices of all member companies of the chamber. This experience introduced me to the Egyptian business environment and strengthened my organisation and communication skills which I believe will serve me as assets in this position as they demonstrate my readiness and ability to work independently and in a team. As part of my role I interacted with members via telephone asking for their updated company information to include in the directory and organised a file at the end with each member’s status regarding whether they updated their information or not and followed up with them until they did. Finally, I was also able to help members deal with issues hindering their submission on various occasions.
